Denpasar is the capital-city of Bali Province, Denpasar means ‘by the market’ and is Bali’s only real city. It has recently been separated administratively from Badung regency, to become a municipality. The city has got some fascination for tourism such as remain of ancient building with Balinese architecture. It offers a city-tour where tourist can experience and learn about various cultural attraction of Denpasar. There are many interesting places that you can find in the city. Pemecutan Palace, proceed to Kuta Palace, Satria Palace, and Kesiman Palace, Finger Print Museum, Le Mayeur Museum, and Archeology Museum in Sesetan and Bali Meseum. Next to the Bali Museum is one of the main temple in Bali, visited by pilgrims during full moon for making offering and praying. A big yearly sacrifice, Tawur, approaching Balinese New Year Nyepi is conducted on Puputan Ground in front of the temple. Followed by Ogoh-Ogoh parade, fearful looking, gigantic “dools” along the streets downtown Denpasar city. The “Catur Muka”, four-faces, statue standing at the center of a croosroad is the very center of denpasar and the land-mark of the city, it is steps away from the Puputan Ground. There’s a place called Werdi Budaya art Center, the vast complex is, apart from its very real cultural function, a showplace for Balinese Temple and Palace Architecture at its most opulent. The open stage Arda Candra with its towering candi gate and the almost rococo main Art Museum, sprawling park, Balinese pavilions and follies have, become a regular architectural attraction. Built on one of the few remaining coconut groves in central Denpasar, the centre has quickly become a busy forum for the performing and fine arts. There is also a chance to do shopping at The Kumbasari market near river gives an interesting over view of an Indonesian market with household wares clothing, spices, dried goods, and fresh products.
